Project Description
This landmark educational and cultural initiative was designed to actively document, archive, and popularize the unique historical and architectural heritage of the World War I military cemeteries scattered across the Gorlice region. Addressing the local community across various skill levels, the project bypassed unskilled amateur photography to deliver professional visual literacy training rooted in deep European historical context. The core objective was to transform local historical trauma and landscape heritage into a public exhibition, fostering national consciousness and a profound understanding of regional cultural roots.
Project included:
Project & syllabus engineering: designing the structural framework, operational timelines, and comprehensive educational curriculum tailored to historical landscape and architectural photography.
Administrative & recruitment logistics: managing the full administrative pipeline, marketing, public relations, and successful candidate recruitment across the region.
Masterclass plein-Air sessions: organizing and leading technical, outdoor documentary sessions executed in direct pedagogical collaboration with the world-renowned photographer and influential art critic – Bogdan Konopka.
Post-production & portfolio consultation: delivering rigorous individual portfolio reviews, artistic feedback, and executing precise graphic and digital contrast correction of student master files optimized for physical archival printing.
Curatorial museum management: full curation, editing, and architectural layout design of the final commemorative photography exhibition hosted within the formal galleries of the Museum.
